STEVE Irwin’s commitment to crocodiles has been immortalised with his favourite salty stamped on a coin.
To mark Steve Irwin Day yesterday, $10,000 was donated to Australia Zoo by a German coin company to "adopt" one of the zoo’s saltwater crocodiles, "Bindi".
The crocodile, the namesake of Steve’s daughter, has become the first of the zoo’s 12 crocs to be featured on $1 silver coins. The investment coins were released in September.
