Welcome to Australia Zoo's Education Department. We are a small but very dedicated group who are active in fulfilling the Australia Zoo motto, CONSERVATION THROUGH EXCITING EDUCATION. We are committed to taking the message of conservation to the hundreds of groups that come through the Zoo looking to learn more.
Stacey joined the Australia Zoo crew as a Volunteer Coordinator in January 2012 after spending 18 years as an educator specialising in environmental excursion experiences for children.
She enjoys working with volunteers who are excellent people with a passion for helping both animals and people. Her favourite animal at the Zoo are the wombats as they are hardworking, social animals in the wild and they look cool particularly when they walk.
When she is not at work, Stacey spends her time sailing, gardening, reading and cooking. She has had many opportunities to experience Australian native animals in their native locales but there is nothing quite like watching Tooth billed Cat birds prepare their bowers.
Megan loves to travel and following many years abroad in Europe, Africa & South America, Megan came back to Australia and joined our zoo crew in October 2003. Megan now meets travellers from all over Australia and the world everyday.
Megan doesn't like to play favourites with our many animals here at the zoo, but she enjoys working with our cheeky wombats.
When not hard at work caring for our gorgeous animals, Megan can be found spending time with her family and she also enjoys camping.
Jackie is long standing member of the zoo crew joining our ranks in September 2002. Jackie loves our cheeky and incredibly smart wombats and enjoys roving these guys around the zoo and sharing their individual personalities with our guests.
One animal experience that has stuck with Jackie is meeting our leaping lemurs for the first time and having them jump all over her.
When Jackie is not hard a work here at the zoo she is spending time with her two gorgeous daughters.
Bec started working in the admissions department in September 2006 and since then has been lucky enough to gain experience in a number of different departments throughout the Zoo including travel, reception, information, tours and group bookings and now education.
She loves working in such a fun and friendly environment surrounded by our beautiful animals and enclosures. In her spare time, Bec enjoys travelling, the beach and spending time with family, friends and her dogs.
Bronwyn started in the Education Department in September 2014. Having a degree in Environmental science will give Bronwyn the edge in educating all our patrons and School groups as they visit us. Bronwyn has also fallen in love with the Otters Bonnie and Maria because they are so playful and of course cute!!
Outside of the Zoo Bronwyn enjoys bird watching, bush walking.
With thousands of visitors from all over the world passing through the gates daily, all team members understand the importance of making a lasting impression to our patrons. A job at Australia Zoo is more than a vocation, it's a lifestyle - just ask any of our team members. Australia Zoo employees love animals and conservation, have an exceptional self-drive attitude towards work and of course, wear the world famous khaki uniforms with pride! You just have to walk around the Zoo to feel the electricity in the air. The atmosphere creates an exciting experience for all visitors and a dream workplace environment for all employees.
