Mark - you should see him with a shovel
Mark
Building Services Manager
Being a qualified Chippy and having worked in the trade industry for over several years, Mark sure has the qualifications to be able to lead one of the most exciting and busy departments in the zoo. Overseeing and coordinating all of the zoo's new expansions, helping us to achieve our dream of becoming Australia's No 1 tourist attraction. Still when the deadline is approaching can catch him on the end of a shovel or with a drill in his hand. We don't know what we would do without him. When Mark manages to get a day off he enjoys chilling our fishing and listening to country music and spending time with his wife, family and two beautiful daughters, Ashley and Meg.Robbie
Construction
Robbie originally joined our zoo crew as a grounds assistant in December 2009 before transferring to our 'Safari Shuttle' team in February 2011.
After working hard assisting our patrons on the Safari Shuttle, Robbie trnasferred to our construction crew in December 2012.
Keith
Stores
Keith is our logistics co-ordinator. What does that involve, you ask? Keith runs around all over town getting gear for the zoo. He could travel to the Gold Coast in the morning and to Noosa in the afternoon, a round trip of about 500km. Keith has been with us for a while now, but he is originally a plumber by trade and even ran his own concrete pump for a while. Keith's interests include swimming and golf.Stephen
Building Services Supervisor
'Two Litre' (Steve) is a chippy here at the Zoo and is doing a great job. He's certainly a bit of a larrikin and loves a good joke. Born in England, Steve moved to Australia while still a young fella so we don't hold it against him. Being an ex-pat Englishman he likes his cricket but loves that strange game he calls football (soccer).
Wayne with Richo the American alligator.
Wayne
Maintenance
Wayne moved up from Sydney and started at Australia Zoo in April 2007. With a background in Maintenance at the Sydney Casino, Wayne is used to the busy schedule and is always happy to help out everyone. At the Zoo his skills sure come in handy. On his time off Wayne enjoys spending time with this family and his 3 year old son, weather it be down at the beach or in the bush where he enjoys mountain bike riding.

Robert
Construction
Robert, better known as Bangles, arrived at the Zoo in May 2007. Whilse most of his time is spent trying to stay out of mischief, Bangles enjoys working with the other boys in construction and likes the variety of the job. Never knowing what will be next, he is always up for a challenge and would like to experience as many different jobs at the Zoo as he can.
Bangles enjoys spending time with his lovely wife and two sons, with the odd game of golf thrown in when time allows.
The Departments
With thousands of visitors from all over the world passing through the gates daily, all team members understand the importance of making a lasting impression to our patrons. A job at Australia Zoo is more than a vocation, it's a lifestyle - just ask any of our team members. Australia Zoo employees love animals and conservation, have an exceptional self-drive attitude towards work and of course, wear the world famous khaki uniforms with pride! You just have to walk around the Zoo to feel the electricity in the air. The atmosphere creates an exciting experience for all visitors and a dream workplace environment for all employees.
