Bindi Irwin had the sweetest of 16th birthday parties last week at Australia Zoo, celebrating animal onesie style!
Giving new meaning to the term "party animal", Bindi celebrated turning 16 with a massive jungle-themed birthday bash - Australia's biggest ever animal onesie party!
Thousands of people came through the Australia Zoo gates dressed as giraffes, zebras, crocodiles and koalas, greeted on arrival by African drummers before joining the crowds to watch Bindi walk the "jungle carpet."
Special guests including Jess and Lisa from The Veronicas, The Hon. Mal Brough MP, Former Queensland Senator, Mark Furner and Former State Member for Glasshouse and Pine Rivers, Carolyn Ferguson joined Bindi, Terri, Robert and Australia Zoo director Wes Mannion on the jungle-themed red carpet.
Onesie-clad guests watched over the carpet festivities before trying their hand at laser-tag, rock climbing and hula-hoop workshops. Live music and amazing contortionists entertained crowds, with guests enjoying the world-renowned Wildlife Warriors show croc feeding by Terri, Robert and the birthday girl herself, Bindi!
Finishing up the day with a piece of her jungle-style birthday cake which she shared with the crowds, Bindi said she was "thrilled" with how her birthday celebrations went.
"To top off a truly incredible day at Australia Zoo with all our guests, I also passed my Learners Drivers Licence test!" said Bindi, "I spent the rest of the day celebrating such a successful birthday with my family, Chinese take-out and a good book."
Bindi has a long list of achievements from her sixteenth year including successfully campaigning to save the Steve Irwin Wildlife Reserve from strip mining, being awarded Young Citizen of the Year at the Sunshine Coast Council Australia Day Awards and being recognised by YWCA Queensland as one of the 125 Leading Women in 2013 - among many other ambassadorships and successful projects.
