Australia Zoo's ‘Wandering Wildlife' team would like to introduce their two newest additions... Bubbles and Cuddles! Bubbles is an amazing male Blue and Gold Macaw, and Cuddles is sweet female Scarlett Macaw.
These two gorgeous Macaws were donated to the Zoo in February and have spent the last six months adjusting to life at Australia Zoo. Bubbles and Cuddles are brilliant at flying around and showing off their magnificent colours, but they also love to socialise. The cheeky two enjoy meeting new people and get very excited when they are out and about in the Zoo. So, Bubbles and Cuddles have joined the ‘Wondering Wildlife' team.
Each day, our two friendly Macaws are taken around the Zoo to meet all of our guests. Bubbles gets very exited and squawks his way through the crowds. He just loves to meet new people and is very confident, Cuddles is a shy little girl, but she is getting more confident everyday. One day you might see Cuddles in the ‘Free flight bird show' with our other macaws.
Both Bubbles and Cuddles are young Macaws. Bubbles is twelve-years-old, and Cuddles is nine-years-old. Macaws can live up to 100 years in captivity and have the mental capabilities of a five to eight year old child. This is an amazing opportunity for the ‘Wandering Wildlife' team to educate guests about these beautiful birds.
Keep a look out for Bubbles and Cuddles next time you visit Australia Zoo!
