Wooo-hoo! Wildlife Warriors Terri (Most Popular Television Presenter), Bindi (Most Popular Television Presenter) and Robert Irwin (Most Popular New Talent) were recently delighted to receive TV Week Logie nominations and are now looking forward to the awards night on Sunday, April 7!
Terri, Bindi and Robert's prime-time television show Steve Irwin's Wildlife Warriors has also received a nomination for the coveted industry awards (Most Popular Factual Program).
This exciting news comes off the back of a huge year for Australia's favourite wildlife warriors, who have been busy filming the new television show in and around Australia Zoo, among other major projects.
This is the first time Robert has been nominated for a prestigious Logie, going up against some of Australia's finest newcomers. As well as his work on Steve Irwin's Wildlife Warriors, Robert has been getting ready to launch his first dinosaur book series next month. Crikey!
"I am really excited to be nominated for a Logie!" Robert said.
"I love being involved in Steve Irwin's Wildlife Warriors because it is an awesome, fun show that shares all of the animals at Australia Zoo and wildlife at our hospital with everyone who watches."
Terri, also a first-time nominee, has had a busy year with major milestones achieved during Australia Zoo's annual crocodile research trip - reaching a target of over 100 crocodiles tracked and tagged, and the Zoo also winning Major Tourist Attraction at the Queensland Tourism Awards. Terri said the nomination is a great honour.
"I have always been proud to have been Steve's sidekick and to now film with Bindi and Robert," Terri said. "It's absolutely overwhelming to receive my first ever Logie nomination. This is such an unexpected honour!"
This will be Bindi's second Logie nomination after winning Most Popular New Talent in 2008. The nomination comes after a huge year of her own including the launch of two new television shows (Bindi's Bootcamp and Steve Irwin's Wildlife Warriors) and a feature film (Nim's Island 2), which will appear in cinemas early 2013.
"I am so excited to be nominated for a Logie and so honoured to be carrying on my Dad's good work," Bindi said.
