Check out our new Zoo Crew Experience, a sensational wildlife encounter available these Easter school holidays.
It's a behind-the-scenes experience like never before as you join our Asia section keepers on their morning rounds, helping to prepare the day for our gorgeous Asian elephants, red pandas, and binturongs, plus an exclusive back-of-house tour and training session with one of our tigers. How good does that sound?!
The experience is the first time members of the public will have the chance to participate directly in a conditioning session with a tiger at Australia Zoo, according to head of tigers, Giles Clark. "We offer tiger walks and photo sessions, but this is the first time our guests have had the ability to work with our cats back of house, just like we do," Giles said. "The Zoo Crew Experience also involves walking our two Asian elephants to their Elephantasia day area, as well as helping out with our red pandas and binturong."
Another exciting behind-the-scenes opportunity available to guests who book a Zoo Crew Experience or a rhino encounter during the Easter school holidays, is the special opportunity to get a sneak peek at our adorable new baby rhino, Mango.
"Mango is doing extremely well and putting on a kilo of weight almost every day," explained Laurie Pond, Head of Africa. "She's still in the nursery learning how to be a rhino from mum Inyeti, so the rhino encounter sneak peek is a special chance to get a glimpse of our gorgeous little girl before she goes on display at Africa."
