Steve Irwin Day 2009 saw thousands of conservationists from around the world fundraise to help Australia Zoo Wildlife Warriors save wildlife and wild places. And if that weren't enough, the group or individual that raised the most funds received a visit from Terri, Bindi and Robert Irwin!
The 2009 highest fundraisers were Seven-year-old Chloe Tsangaris from Brisbane, and USA-based cereal company Post Cereals. Collectively, Chloe and Post Cereals raised a total of $34,000 for Australia Zoo Wildlife Warriors wildlife conservation projects, including research on the Steve Irwin Wildlife Reserve in far North Queensland.
In March 2010, Terri, Bindi and Robert Irwin flew to Post Cereals' USA-based headquarters to personally thank company members for being the Highest Group Fundraiser.
Chloe, who raised over $14,000 in the lead up to Steve Irwin Day through a variety of events she held, received one week of adventure on the Sunshine Coast, including unlimited visits to Australia Zoo and VIP tours and behind-the-scenes experiences. Plus, at Australia Zoo's brekkie in April 2010, Chloe was named Wildlife Warrior of the Year by the Irwin family. Wooo-hoo!
Would you like the chance to win some amazing prizes, while helping to save the world's wildlife and wild places?
Great news! The Steve Irwin Day challenge is on again in 2010. And you can KHAKI IT! 365 days of the year and fundraise for Steve Irwin Day all year round. And with just seven months to go until Steve Irwin Day 2010- why not start fundraising today.
