Christmas came early for Bashii, one of Australia Zoo's resident Sumatran Tigers yesterday.
Three year old, Sumatran Tiger Bashii, came to Australia Zoo at only three months of age, along with his sisters Maneki and Kaitlyn. Born in Indonesia, he and his sisters were the first Sumatran cubs to be released in over 27 years and are considered to be the most valuable assets to the International Breeding program.
Yesterday, Santa visited Tiger Temple on a special visit to give Bashii his Christmas gifts, wrapped up meat treats and milk. Bashii tore straight into opening his gifts and happily devoured the treats as guests looked on.
Santa is visiting Australia Zoo every single day in December right up till Christmas Eve as part of our Summer Down Under celebrations and you can join in the fun. Have your photo taken with Santa and one of our gorgeous gators!
You can also adopt Bashii! By adopting one of Australia Zoo's animals, not only do have the satisfaction of knowing you are making a difference - you will also receive gifts of appreciation.
