The Wide Bay Crocs, sponsored for the 10th year by Australia Zoo, were the winners of the 2010 Queensland Police Rugby League State Championships.
Taking out the title against the Brisbane Bulldogs, this is the team's first championship win since 1998 and they have proudly donated $2,000 towards Australia Zoo Wildlife Warriors.
This week, Sunshine Coast players got up close to some of the Zoo's baby alligators, as they showed off their trophy and presented Australia Zoo Wildlife Warrior's with a cheque to support its conservation projects.
Detective Sergeant and President of the Wide Bay Crocs Tom Dawson said the win was a long time coming and were thankful for the Zoo's ongoing support.
"We really appreciate the continued support from Australia Zoo, which has been a big part of the success of the Wide Bay Crocs team," he said.
"We wanted to give back to the Zoo and as a thank you have proudly donated $2,000 towards Australia Zoo Wildlife Warriors to assist with their conservation projects."
Australia Zoo Wildlife Warriors Appeals Manager, Murray Munro, congratulated the team on their win and accepted the cheque on behalf of Wildlife Warriors.
"We're very appreciative of the Crocs' donation which will assist Wildlife Warriors in continuing to save endangered wildlife within Australia and around the world."
