Crikey! This Easter long weekend, Robert will be taking dinner-time matters into his own hands and feeding our American alligators.
Our fearless 8-year-old dynamo has recently begun learning how to feed, and is really excited to show off his new skills.
The smaller 'gators love to chow down on various snacks, including insects, fish, rats and birds. As they grow bigger their prey in the wild also becomes larger, like cows and deer.
Check out Robert's feeding time in the Environmental Park at 3.15pm this Easter Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
Did you know?
Wild American alligators live only in the USA, in any freshwater system they can find! This includes both natural and man-made freshwater lakes, ponds, rivers, and wetland areas, sometimes even in the middle of housing estates. Very occasionally American alligators can be also spotted in the ocean, however unlike Australia's saltwater crocodile, the alligator does not possess salt glands and must return to fresh water regularly to drink and rid itself of salt.
