CROCODILE TRACKING

Tiny Tim

Sex: M
Size: 12ft 0.5in (3665mm)
Tagged: 2014-09-02

Tiny Tim became part of Australia Zoo's Crocodile Research program in 2014, after being captured in a floating trap and fitted with both a GPS tracker and acoustic tag. Tiny Tim was named after Australia Zoo Wildlife Warriors' Global Ambassador and winner of Big Brother 2013, Tim Dormer, who sponsored the croc in 2014. Tiny Tim is a large male croc measuring an impressive 12 feet 1.5 inches (3665mm) - ironically making him not-so-tiny Tim!

Australia Zoo, in partnership with the University of Queensland and Australia Zoo Wildlife Warriors, now manage the longest continuous study of crocodiles in the world. Thanks to Tim's generosity and that of others just like him, this vital croc research continues, helping us to find out more about this incredible, threatened species and how best to manage and work with communities living alongside them.
