Emerald the Pacific Baza  Dec 30, 2011

Emerald the Pacific Baza

Age: Juvenile Sex: Unknown

Found: Stunned on the side of a road in Beerwah, perhaps as a result of being clipped by a passing car.

Transported to: The Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital for treatment.

Veterinary Assessment: Dr Amber assessed Emerald, and found that while the youngster was very slightly underweight, there were no visible external abnormalities or injuries.

Treatment: Dr Amber x-rayed Emerald to make sure there were no fractures or internal injuries, and happily this too returned positive results.

Outcome: Emerald was released back into the wild the very next day by Marko and James from the Australia Zoo Rescue Unit.

AZWH Statistic: The free wildlife veterinary services offered by the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital continued as per normal over the Christmas break - 24 hours a day. We wish everyone a happy new year!
