Christmas treats galore!
29 December 2006
Well the Christmas celebrations have come to an end and I trust you all had a safe and very merry Christmas! We hope all your Christmas wishes came true and Santa paid your household a visit. Our camels, dingoes and foxes all certainly enjoyed the Christmas treats they received!
The dingoes all received an egg carton with a raw egg cracked into it. Now to you or I, that may not seem like the ideal gift at all! In fact you’d probably be pretty disappointed, but to the dingoes this is like heaven. They lapped up the eggs in no time and licked their lips clean! The foxes received a food scatter throughout their enclosure and they were like busy little beavers, scurrying around searching out all the little surprises we had hidden around the enclosure for them. They had to be quick though, because there are quite a few wild Eastern Water Dragons that have also decided to take up residency in the fox enclosure, and they were also keen to search out the little treats. Some of those water dragons are starting to get quite game around the foxes!
Now as for the camels, they had their very own Christmas tree decorated with carrots and passionfruit! Again, probably not your average Christmas tree that most people have at home, but the camels loved it! As Michele mentioned in last week's diary entry, the camels don’t just like to sit back and admire their Christmas tree, they like to munch on it! It wasn’t long before all the carrots and passionfruit disappeared and there was nothing but a bare stick left of the Christmas tree!
Well guys, that’s all from the exotics crew for 2006, hope you all have a fantastic new year!
