The sheep have a new look for summer!

Well it’s Christmas time again! With christmas comes the usual hot and humid summer. Though we think it's hot for us, imagine wearing a jumper all day! That’s how the sheep in Kids Zoo feel every day of summer. So we gave them a new look.

Last week the sheep in Kids Zoo were shorn. They all look quite different from before! Without their wool, the sheep almost look half the size they were with their wool on. It was quite fascinating to see how much wool our sheep actually had on them. With their new haircut they will be able to run around and play a lot more with each other and us, without worrying about getting too hot. Hopefully now the sheep can enjoy the summer sun and not too hot and bothered. They’ll be able to stay out for longer and graze a lot longer on their walks. Although they look a little funny, we know that shearing them has made a heap of difference in making their lives a lot better. They will all be a lot cooler and a lot happier during this summer. Which is what we strive to do here in Kids Zoo, and the entire Zoo - make our animals happy!
