Rikki And Rhianna Love Feeding Time

Meet Rikki and Rhianna, our beautiful twin Friesian calves. What a handsome pair. The twins belong to Garry from Reptiles, and Garry was at their birth – well he actually delivered the twins.

Rikki and Rhianna came to Kids Zoo at the age of just 10 days, a beautiful pair of babies with their spotty noses and big eyes. They both have very accurate internal clocks and if we're running behind making up their bottles Rikki will certainly let us know. He has the deepest, loudest, continuous moo you'll ever hear and will keep it up for as long as it takes to get that bottle right in his mouth. The bottle's slurped down in a flash and then he attempts to push his sister's bottle out of her mouth to guzzle down some more!

Did you know that the patterns on a Friesian cow are like our fingerprints... no two are the same...and did you know that a cow makes more than 40,000 jaw movements a day [I wonder who sat there counting that all day...]

Rikki and Rhianna are coming up to 4 months old now and soon it will be time for them to go home with Garry to live back on the farm. We'll sure miss them.
