Clancy
25 August 2006
This week we’d like to pay tribute to another one of our crazy koala characters, Clancy. Clancy is one of our older breeding males and because of his strength and dominant personality, he isn’t involved in meeting and greeting patrons, hence not many people get the chance to meet this funny old boy. Clancy absolutely loves a good scratch down his spine, on his scent gland and even around the back of his ears (if we’re game!). When he gets excited he has developed a funny little habit; he will give his head a shake and all of a sudden an odd-looking growth will appear out the side of his mouth; his tongue!
But one thing Clancy loves most of all is food. As soon as the leaf arrives in the afternoon, Clancy will be waiting at the nearest branch, ears pricked, ready to check out what’s on the menu. And with his ravenous appetite, he has developed another funny habit. Poor old Clancy has developed a bit of a dribble, and as he stuffs all that tasty leaf into his mouth, he gives himself a lovely green dribbly chin. So three cheers for Clancy; we never have to worry about him eating well, and that comical face of his always puts a smile on ours.
