Look how big our boys are!
25 November 2005
It's been a long time since we updated you on our two little men. Zeehan and Tahune, our young Tasmanian Devils, are now nine months old. They look like perfect miniature devils, weighing in at about two-and-a-half kilograms. They have already been introduced to their harnesses and take daily walks out in the Zoo to check out all the new smells. This is by far the best enrichment we can give them, but these little guys sure do enjoy all the other surprises we bring into their enclosure. Zeehan and Tahune are starting to learn that there is a lot of fun to be had at the Zoo and that their keepers love to join in.Every day these devils get to take a swim in a wading pool; they love it, especially after a big walk. Some of their other favourites have been scatters of sardines, a rubber football and a mixture of barks and blossoms from around the Zoo. As they grow they will be introduced to many more enrichment activities – just like their mum and dad enjoy every day. Look out for the boys training on their harnesses and running amok like all little boys do!
