Birthday for the boys
26 May 2006
On the 18th of May it was our cheetah boys' second birthday. It was a huge day for all involved. At the start of the day we were shopping for the birthday presents, trying to pick out the most exciting toys that we could find! We had to make sure the presents weren’t discovered before party time!
Once the cheetahs came into the Tiger Temple, the exhibit was covered in balloons, the grandstands lined with well-wishers and everyone was ready for the celebration. The first present was a sponge cake covered with whipped cream. One for the boys to share, and one for the girls too. We knew the girls wouldn’t take it too kindly if they didn’t get their own cake as well. The cake was gone within seconds! They just loved it. They even followed around the empty plates as they were being carried out, waiting for more. The next presents were boxes and boxes filled with new toys. They had a huge variety of new toys to play with and all of the cats were very excited. Once the cats had finished with their birthday celebrations they were all worn out and had a rest for the remainder of the day. One lucky birthday boy, Foxtrot, got to meet up with our guests who placed the winning bid in our auction of a cheetah walk and a limited edition pug painting. All of the money raised from the birthday party went straight into our big cat conservation fund. We have an exciting new fundraising project about to start, so stay tuned for further updates!
