Tiger Bridge

30 September 2005

Imagine waking up one morning only to find out that someone had been in your house; it would raise a lot of fear in most people. The tigers experienced this the other morning, but it was all in fun.

When the tigers leave the Tiger Temple of an afternoon, they are put into their night cages and given their dinner. This gives us the opportunity to set up enrichment for the next day.

The tigers were put on display the next morning to find a log connecting the island in the middle of the pool to the edge. The tigers were very quick to investigate the new addition to their enclosure. Tigers naturally have good balance due to their long, thick tails. The log provided hours of entertainment for all five tigers, and they like the fact that they can get on the island without getting their feet wet.

The tigers still enjoy running on the log and can be seen battling each other for a good position on the log. The log has also helped out a lot in our toy sessions as we can use it to our advantage. Here are some shots of Juma checking out the new log.
