Swimming pool central

Hello again from the BIGGEST attractions at the Zoo!

As mentioned in a previous edition of Animal Diaries, we are currently constructing a purpose-built swimming pool for our girls to enjoy. Well, this is coming along in leaps and bounds now. Just this week, we have had our construction crew levelling out the floor of the shallow end, which will be around 40-50 cms high. A pool of this size requires a great deal of preparation, particularly in developing the foundations to support such a large body of water. We are planning to dig out the deeper section next week, which will slope from the shallow end, to a depth of around 1.5 metres. The wall that forms one side of the pool is currently being landscaped by our theming artists, and will include a massive waterfall as well as a sculptured elephant's head that shoots a stream of water out, giving the girls a luxurious massage! How spoilt are these girls going to be?

Oh well... as they say, "If you cant beat 'em, join 'em!"... so don't be suprised to see us handlers enjoying a splash around alongside them!
