PRIMATES Wooo-hoo!
Primates are currently off display
19 October 2007
Welcome to the first ever diary entry from the Australia Zoo Primate Team. Our diary entries may be a little different to other sections entries but we hope you find them educating and full of unknown facts. To start I wanted to give you all a quick run down of the primates that are a part of our section and the direction in which we are heading for. We presently house Cotton top Tamarins, Ringtailed Lemurs and Black and white ruffed Lemurs. They are all amazing animals and packed full of personality. They are all currently in off display exhibits but we do have awesome plans for these guys and for you.
We are currently going through the motions of planning and building an Island enclosure to house our Lemurs. In tradition of the Australia Zoo standards they are going to have a huge habitat of over 2 acres to live where they will be able to leap through the trees, forage on the ground, play, explore and everything else that comes with being a Lemur. We are extremely excited and can’t wait to let these guys loose to "move it move it"! This island as well as being a haven for our guys is designed to be highly educational to our guests and full of fun. I guarantee once you see these intriguing little characters you will fall in love with them and will want to know more.
In the next lot of diary entries we will be filling your screens full of exciting information and facts about Primates in general. Hope you all enjoy!!
PRIMATES RULE!
