Hi everyone its Becky-Jo here, you might remember my name from lots of Kids Zoo articles. Well this week I am writing to you from the koala side of the Zoo.
I have just started getting back into working with the beautiful and cuddly koalas, and I have started my koala training with Kelly, our supervisor. It has been so exciting to do more handling with them; it takes a lot practice to handle koalas. During training I get to help with weigh day, when we weigh all the koalas and check them all over. Someone has to hold them for Kelly to check, and that's where I come in - I get to hold nearly every koala in the Zoo. Just last week I did my very first koala demo. It was so scary. I was so nervous I was almost sweating, thinking I was going to forget all my words. But by the end of it I can safely say it went pretty well. And pretty soon I will get to start my koala photo training with Kelly, where I get to give people the opportunity to give one of our koalas a cuddle. I am so excited!
Well that's all from me this week, and I hope to be sharing more exciting things with you that I experience along the way. Have a great week and remember to keep checking in on us.
