The return of Zeke

This week the Mammals Department has seen the return of Zeke, one of our beautiful male Tasmanian devils. Over the last few months Zeke has been on holidays at our external devil holding facility at Blackbutt, but with the devil breeding season approaching we have brought Zeke back home to be closer to our female devils, in the hope that next year they will breed once again.
Zeke has always been one of the mammal crew's favourites, as he has such a lovely nature. He is often dubbed as a SNAD – Sensitive New Age Devil. He has been successful in breeding with Tula in 2005. Tula gave birth to our now 19-month-old boys Tahune and Zeehan.
We are very hopeful that this season both of our Tassie girls (Jinki and Tula) will have success with Zeke and we can continue to prosper in our Tasmanian Devil breeding program.
