Introducing Percy

We have a new arrival at the zoo, introducing Percy the Common-brushtail Possum.
She has the sweetest, loving nature and with her beautiful brown eyes and softest grey fur she can melt your heart. Percy came to live at the zoo in late December 2006 after living with an elderly couple who hand raised her over the past 12 months. She has settled in with her keepers and loves to sit on your shoulder. Like all brushtails, Percy really enjoys a snack with fruit being her favourite (especially paw paw and rose apples).
We are currently providing her with a number of new experiences including new smells and noises to build up her confidence in her new surroundings as well as harness training. During training she goes for walks along the creek, which is her favourite spot, where she’s not afraid to get her feet wet, continuing to make every experience positive, it wont be long before Percy’s out and about roving around the zoo.
