A World of Trees!

Every workplace has its own lingo. If you work in an office your daily talk might involve meetings, computers and phones. Well... it's the same at the Zoo. We often use medical terms, abbreviations and funny code words when communicating to our team mates. As koala keepers, our lingo involves a lot of 'tree' talk. Our koala walk through exhibit is a free ranging exhibit where the koalas are able to live in mature trees and can travel between these trees as they please. We keep track of where the koalas are by using nicknames for the trees. If you overhear us on the radio, you might hear some comments about; Matilda's favourite tree, the Y shaped tree, the crooked tree and the tree with no forks. Its all just koala code for where the koalas have chosen to sit today. It may sound confusing, but don't worry, we know what we are talking about!
