New Kid on the block

We have a very new addition to the bird show crew, and once he’s all grown up he will become a star in the bird show. I’m talking about the very cute Blue-winged Kookaburra whom we have named Slim Dusty, or Slim for short.
Slim is only 12 weeks old and was born here at Australia Zoo. His proud parents Matilda and Spike cared for and nurtured him until he was old enough for us to take over the role. You can visit the proud parents at our Birds of Prey Aviary or even watch them in action at the daily show.
Slim is now housed with the rest of the crew at our Roving Headquarters and is feeding well by himself. As the baby of the bunch he has been taken under all of our wings and is enjoying all the attention that he gets from his newfound parents (that's us!).
When Slim is ready he will join his already famous cousin Tok, our wonderful Laughing Kookaburra, in our daily bird shows.
