Baby Alligator Training
6 May 2005
Wow, how lucky are we! We have been working as part of the Wandering Wildlife team for the last 6 months and every day we get to work with some of the most wonderful, unique and beautiful animals. Now we are starting our training with the most exciting animal so far - baby American Alligators! These guys are awesome! At only 3 months of age and around 30 centimeters long, these guys are a bit of a handful already. There are 11 babies and we are able to work with each of them, but the hardest part is actually identifying who is who. Yes, that's right, each of the 11 alligators has a name and we have to be able to tell each one apart! They do all have individual markings so we do have a hand there. Our training is going really well, thanks to lots of help from the Croc Team, so hopefully you may see us roving out in the Zoo in the near future.
Till next time baby alligators rule!
