Curious Coconut

Quite possibly the most affectionate reptiles that we are lucky enough to work with are the aldabran tortoises, now I'm sure this fact has been mentioned in past animal diaries but what is not focused on as much is how inquisitive they are.
The tortoises just love testing out anything new in their enclosure which makes it hard to ever get grass to grow in the exhibits. While the turf is still new they will try to dig the turf up and look under it which is alot of fun for the tortoises but not much good for the poor old turf.
Another example of just how inquisitive they can be is during the tortoise experience most times even if they are not hungry they will come straight over just to check out the new people in their house.
The other day I was walking past the tortoises when I saw coconut our only female tortoise sitting on top of her fence not trying to escape but just looking around.
There are many cool animals to work with in the reptile department but it’s hard to find any that are more fun than the tortoises.
