Ash and Bec's Roving Adventures

28 October 2005

Ash has become a familiar face around the Zoo with all the staff; from the crew at Information to the croc team, every one absolutely loves our gorgeous Ash; but with a face like that who could resist?

Once a day, Ash and I go for an exciting rove around the zoo with one of our best photographers, Tammy. We bump into lots of interesting guests and staff who are more than welcome to have a cuddle and a photo with Ash. But we don't only bump into people. We also get to meet heaps of other animals that are also roving around, from birds and alligators to little snakes and dingoes... and much, much more.

Now pigs aren't known as the cuddliest of animals, but we work with our little babies from two weeks of age, when they first arrive at the Zoo. So they have complete trust in us and just love the attention and the cuddles. And as you might have seen in one of our latest Animal Diaries, we can also harness them to walk around the Zoo. This all just comes from lots of patience and training.

Answers to last week's 'All About Ears' challenge:

a) Sheep (Sienna, the Damara x)
b) Cow (Sahara, our Friesian)
c) Pig (Ash the mixed-breed)
d) Goat (tex the Anglo-Nubian)

Next week we'll be bringing you another Kids' Zoo animal challenge, so stay tuned!
