Echidnas in the limelight

We know it’s taken a while, but finally you will be able to see our echidnas on display! Our six adventurous little fellas (and sheilas) will have the Taj Mahal of echidna enclosures and with this year's breeding season coming to an end, our echidnas will have a whole year in front of them to get settled into their new home.
The new enclosure is currently being constructed in Roo Heaven. The design of the enclosure is being based upon a dry creek bed where they will have a choice of sleeping or playing in a selection of substrates including dirt, sand, mulch and grass.
Not many people would know too much about the Short-beaked Echidna, but once on display hopefully some more people will stop and take the time to learn and understand more about these mysterious creatures.
