Kimberly joins the Bird Show for the School Holidays

We now have another black cockatoo flying around in the Animal Planet Crocoseum bringing it up to 5 beautiful cockatoos flying together in each show. Kimberley a Red Tail Black cockatoo has completed all her training and is now confident enough to fly in the shows with the other birds and just in time for the school holiday season.

Currently in the daily shows you will see Kari, Euli and Star our other Red Tail Black cockatoos flying around gracefully and also Matari, our Yellow Tail Black cockatoo. Now this is where Kimberly comes into the picture as she executes her routine with Matari starting at one side of the Crocoseum audience and making her way all around the audience to the other side.

Now a lot of time goes into building a good relationship with our birds and training them. But Kimberly is an extremely smart bird who just absolutely loves flying in the Crocoseum so she was an absolute pleasure to train and completed her training in record time. Once she knew her routine all we had to do was gradually introduce her to Matari by letting them spend time together in our big "play" aviaries so that they would be happy to fly together in the show.

So next time you visit the zoo make sure you see one of the two daily shows in the Crocoseum and keep an eye out for our newest star Kimberly.
