Decisions, decisions
29 July 2005
Our animals have such an easy life here at Australia Zoo. The hardest decision that our camels have to make in a day is whether they feel like munching on browse or grass during their walks! Well, I guess being the cheeky camel she is, Dajarra also has to decide whether or not she feels like behaving! On their walks, the camels have the choice of munching on fresh browse (leaves on trees) or grass. While camels are predominantly browse eaters, they will also eat grass if it is available to them. We feed our camels a variety of fresh browse twice a day (at least), so when they are out walking, the girls often choose to have a munch on some grass. DJ in particular loves the opportunity to help herself to some grass, although we suspect she has been telling Teela what she's been missing out on, because recently Teela has also started to choose the grass over the browse. Who knows?!
