The ever-reliable Kelsey and Richard

26 August 2005

Every now and then, the croc team gets the chance to head off on a fun-filled adventure of crocodile conservation. Exciting as it all seems, did you ever wonder how the crocodile department at Australia Zoo holds up when there are actually no crocodile keepers around?

That's where Kelsey (Curator) and Richard (Assistant Curator) come in. Seeing as though we can't send any old Joe Blow into our crocodile enclosures, why not send two of our senior staff members in to take care of the job? See, Kelsey and Richard have been at Australia Zoo since the dinosaurs roamed the earth, and there is basically nothing these two cannot do at the Zoo. From CrocsLIVE shows to the maintenance of crocodile enclosures and anything else croc-related, Kelsey and Richard manage to hold all aspects of the department together long enough for the croc boys to get back and rip it to pieces again. Any time you see Kelsey and Richard running around inside our crocodile enclosures, you know that there isn't a croc boy to be found and there is real work that needs to be done.

A big thanks goes out to Kelsey and Richard for all their hard work while the crocodile keepers are rolling around with muddy crocodiles and having all the fun.
