Hi everyone its Becky-Jo here, you might remember my name from lots of Kids Zoo articles. Well this week I am writing to you from the koala side of the Zoo.

I have just started getting back into working with the beautiful and cuddly koalas, and I have started my koala training with Kelly, our supervisor. It has been so exciting to do more handling with them; it takes a lot practice to handle koalas. During training I get to help with weigh day, when we weigh all the koalas and check them all over. Someone has to hold them for Kelly to check, and that's where I come in - I get to hold nearly every koala in the Zoo. It is very good as they are all very different to handle, so to be able to hold them all is great practice.

Just last week I did my very first koala demo. It was so scary. I was so nervous I was almost sweating, thinking I was going to forget all my words. But by the end of it I can safely say it went pretty well. And pretty soon I will get to start my koala photo training with Kelly, where I get to give people the opportunity to give one of our koalas a cuddle. I am so excited!

Well that's all from me this week, and I hope to be sharing more exciting things with you that I experience along the way. Have a great week and remember to keep checking in on us.

Becky-Jo
