Pool time FUN!

Well here we are again talking about the elephant pool, but this is just an update of how the girls are adapting to their new water feature. All is going great and they are slowing going a little bit deeper each time. The handlers have been getting into the water with them, trying to encourage them to explore the pool area, as there are deep drop-offs and waterfalls to get used to.

We are also using food rewards to make it a positive experience for the girls (this works extremely well with Sabu, as she just loves her food). Siam seems to be enjoying it the most and sometimes doesn’t want to leave the pool. Sabu’s confidence has grown a lot in the last couple of days and she is now playing with the big ball and Siam, as well as the handlers. Little Bimbo, on the other hand, seems to be taking her time getting used to it all. She is a little bit nervous with new things, but as time goes on her confidence will grow.

The guests are loving it, and Siam is starting to splash people already! It is just awesome to watch and amazing to be a part of. I must admit with these warm days, the handlers are enjoying the pool just as much as the elephants.
