Cooling Down

13 April 2007

With the cooler weather starting to creep up on us we can really start to notice changes in the behavior of our crocodiles. We have noticed lately that our freshwater crocs here at the zoo are becoming a lot less interested in food, this might sound strange to some of you but rest assured its perfectly normal. The reason these little crocs aren't hungry is because when its cold their digestive system doesn’t work and therefore they know not to eat.

We have also noticed our crocs are becoming less active, this is also normal because freshwater crocs get their energy from heat and when its not very hot their quite happy to laze around. So until next time remember CROCS RULE!!!
