Bring On The Training
16 March 2007
Well it's that time of year again when things take a step backwards and quieten down for a little while. Now for most departments this gives good opportunity to catch up on things and get some extra jobs done. For the Croc Team it's all about training and this week Herby was signed off to start feeding some of the bigger boys in the Crocoseum. Shaka, Murry and Graham have now been added to the list for Herby to feed and he kick started with Shaka, a 13ft, 350kg Saltwater Crocodile. Judging by his actions before the demo started the little fella was rather nervous about the whole thing. Once out there Shaka really tested Herby by trying to convince him to move that little bit closer to him, however with Toby's watchful eyes over his shoulders Herbs got through the demo safely. Now, although its great to see our keepers moving onto bigger and better things within the department it's even better to see that more of the Croc Team is getting involved in passing on our message of crocodile conservation. Keep an eye on Mark and Anthony whom have just started talking on demonstrations within our Crocodile Environmental Park. These two boys are well on their way to rocking out in the Crocoseum where they will be presenting the ever-exciting Crocs Live Show.
