Cheeky Cheetah Walk
Check out our cheeky cheetahs up close and personal on your very own cheetah encounter!
You and your family or friends can enjoy special time with our big cats while one of our professional photographers captures the incredible moment.
Included in your cheetah experience is a photography package that contains 24 colour photos (6x4) and eight enlarged photos of your choice (up to 15x10).
Package Details
Timing and Days:
- Cheetah encounters are held 7 days a week
- Cheetah encounters are held from 8:15am - 8:45am. Participants must arrive at Australia Zoo no later than 8:00am.
Package Includes:
- Entry into Australia Zoo
- One professional Australia Zoo photographer to capture the moment
- 24 colour photos (6x4)
- Eight enlarged photos of your choice up to 15x10
Price and Guest Limit:
- AUD $395 per cheetah encounter for a group up to four (4) people
- The same price will apply if the number of participants is less
- Minimum age 15 years
Access to Australia Zoo:
- As Cheeky! Cheetah Walks are held prior to opening hours, guests are required to be at Australia Zoo's admission gates 15 minutes prior to the walk time, where they will be greeted and escorted into Zoo premises

- Bookings should be made in advance through the Information desk at Australia Zoo on (07) 5436 2002 or via email: guestservices@australiazoo.com.au
- A non-refundable deposit of AUD $100 will be taken at the time of the booking
Please Note:
- During times of inclement weather, we will still endeavour to conduct the cheetah encounter at a more comfortable time that day. However, if the participants would like to re-schedule their walk for another day, we will be more than happy to arrange this.

Terms and Conditions
- Available only to participants who are 15 years of age and above
- Closed in shoes and either jeans or long cotton drill pants must be worn at all times during the walk
- Clothing should be fitted (not overly baggy) and neutral in colour. No bright colours or loud clothing.
- All participants must agree to follow all instructions by the handlers
- As these walks primarily form part of the Cheetahs exercise, it will not be a formal session. That is, whenever the Cheetahs stop – everyone stops. This time will then be utilised for photo opportunities
- Final numbers must be confirmed a minimum of 2 days before the encounter date.
- You must be fit and healthy and able to walk at a reasonable pace for 30mins
- Participants must be able to able to squat/kneel down without assistance.
- Participants may be asked to cease the walk at any time for whatever reason at the handler's discretion
- Please ensure that your hands are clean prior to beginning the walk
- No personal items or food are permitted during the walk with the exception of cameras
- Please remember that Cheetahs are predatory animals and are quite capable of exercising their natural instincts
- Do not under any circumstances attempt to pick up or roughly handle any of the Cheetahs
- Patting and touching of the Cheetahs will be permitted under the guidance and instruction of the handlers
- Australia Zoo does not take any responsibility for any injuries that are received from the Cheetahs, including scratches and bites. First Aid will be called if required
- An Australia Zoo photographer will be present during the walk to capture the action. All photos included in the package will be available for collection from the Fuji Photography lab
