An exciting opportunity has arisen for someone to join The Crocodile Hunter Lodge team as the ‘Lodge Manager’!

The Lodge Manager will oversee the day to day operation of The Crocodile Hunter Lodge. This role will ensure that guests have a once in a lifetime experience while visiting a tourism icon.

The Lodge currently has 8 beautiful cabins, with more on the way. The grounds are a haven for native wildlife, with black cockatoos and kangaroos visiting most days. The Crocodile Hunter Lodge is a place for guests to relax and reconnect with nature and will feature the Warrior Restaurant and a 25 metre infinity pool that overlooks our resident emus, kangaroos and koalas.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate their ability to problem solve, manage a team and work cohesively with Australia Zoo Management.

Duties Include –

  • Liaising with other Department Managers and Senior Management
  • Plan and allocate responsibilities to achieve operational efficiencies
  • Point-of-sale processing
  • Supervise lodge staff
  • Manage budgets and expenses
  • Provide recommendations to the Marketing team to develop marketing strategies
  • Coordinate repairs and maintenance when required
  • Ensure that all relevant legislation is being appropriately followed and adhered to
  • Collaborate with both internal and external suppliers, travel agencies, event/conference planners
  • Inspect facilities regularly and enforce strict compliance and health and safety standards
  • Maintain Australia Zoo’s high customer service standards
  • Commitment to our policies and confidentiality policies
  • Ensure company Code Of Ethics and Code Of Conduct are upheld at all times
  • Work within guidelines of Workplace Health and Safety procedures
  • Participate in performance training and development of staff

Essential Criteria –

  • Full availability, including weekends, public holidays and school holidays
  • Applicants must be enthusiastic, motivated, confident, well-presented and able to demonstrate a high level of work-ethic and initiative
  • Demonstrated experience with managing accommodation, or a similar role
  • Understanding of all accommodation management practices and relevant laws/guidelines
  • Computer skills
  • Knowledge of accommodation management software
  • Great interpersonal communication skills and focus on customer service
  • Organisational skills
  • Proof of Coronavirus Vaccination (unless otherwise exempt)

Preferred Criteria –

  • Current First Aid certificate
  • Qualifications in business, administration, management or tourism
  • Current manual driver’s licence
