The IT Department at Australia Zoo is primarily responsible for the management, maintenance and development of all Australia Zoo IT systems. To be successful in this role, you must have a great understanding of different IT systems and hardware.

A successful applicant will have a demonstrated ability to work in a high performance environment, with a capacity to deliver all requirements of the role, a great work ethic and the ability to work to a high standard within the team.

Primary Duties

  • Administration of AWS (Amazon Web Services) infrastructure
  • Administration of Google Workspaces
  • Administration of Microsoft 365
  • Administration of MS Windows/SQL
  • Administration of local hypervisors
  • Administration of public and private DNS zones and infrastructure
  • Administration of AD DS
  • Administration of local file servers and backups
  • Administration of local networking, including core backbone, firewall and wifi systems

Primary Criteria –

  • Understanding of cloud technologies
  • Understanding of internal infrastructure, including virtualisation, desktops, networking, backup systems
  • Experience working with: Google workspaces, AWS, MS Windows/SQL Server, Microsoft 365, Terraform, Ansible, VMWare, Active Directory, Storage Technologies, Tape Backups, Bind9, isc-dhcp, HP Procurve, Unifi, Fortinet, Postfix, Git/Gitlab, Jenkins, Mixed Windows/Linux infrastructure
  • Hold a current Driver’s Licence
  • Availability to work weekends, public holidays and school holidays
  • Proof of Coronavirus Vaccination (unless otherwise exempt)

Preferred Criteria –

  • Current 1st Aid qualifications
  • Experience working in a development team
  • Any other relevant certificates involving Leadership, Training, WHS
