Director of Development
Nicole Joined the Zoo Crew in August 2015. With over twelve year’s experience in Marketing, Communications and Fundraising, Nicole has overseen the development of fundraising strategy, management of brand and profile raising and major partnerships across a diverse portfolio of fundraising programs.
She is passionate about Wildlife, Conservation and connecting people to projects that can truly change the world.
Nicole’s work has been broadly recognised; most recently in 2015 when she received two FIA National Awards for Excellence.
Originally hailing from Melbourne, Nicole appreciates the glorious Queensland weather and doesn’t miss an opportunity to hit the beach or hike the mountains.
Shari started with AZWW in March 2014 after relocating to the Sunshine Coast from Perth, where she spent four years in community development at the Leukaemia Foundation. After more than 10 years working and volunteering across the conservation, arts,health care sectors, Shari brings a wealth of knowledge in fundraising, donor relations and event management. She is passionate about wildlife across the world and is thrilled to be helping raise funds for our gorgeous animals and conservation programs. One of Shari's most exciting animal encounters was coming face to face with a grizzly Bear in the wild.
National Director of Development WW - USA
Cynthia came to Australia Zoo Wildlife Warriors in August 2013. After two years of preserving wildlife and wild places in Australia, she has returned to her homeland as the National Director of Development for Wildlife Warriors Worldwide USA. Cynthia is taking her job to new heights by expanding the charity’s presence on an international level to include and involve caring people of the USA in the support and protection of injured, threatened and endangered wildlife. She is excited to continue engaging people from around the globe in wildlife conservation.
Cynthia has 20 years of experience in fundraising and communications with non-profit organizations throughout the United States and Australia, including six years as Corporate Relations Manager for the Oregon Zoo Foundation. She is also past president of Willamette Valley Development Officers (WVDO), a regional membership and training organization for fund raising professionals.
Community Engagement Coordinator
Hannah started with Wildlife Warriors in February 2015. When you visit Wildlife Warriors, Hannah will greet you with a smile and answer all your questions on how they support the Wildlife Hospital.
Hannah loves to travel and just loves the Macaws, after seeing them in Brazil.
Emily started with AZWW in April 2014 as the Admin & Office Support. Emily has also taken on the role of Development Coordinator.
She has had previous experience in Events Management, admin sales and customer service in the fashion industry. Emily has had a lot of experience with our wildlife including rescuing and raising a Joey. Emily has a soft spot for one of our Koalas - Milo, that she is currently a sponsor for. She is so happy to be working for an organisation that actually makes a difference. Outside of the Zoo Emily enjoys Scuba Diving and travelling.
Donor Relations Officer
Melissa started at Australia Zoo Wildlife Warriors in August 2015, after relocating from Brisbane to the Sunshine Coast with her family. Originally from New Zealand, she worked in finance and office management roles within various sectors ranging from construction to advertising.
Melissa found her niche in not-for-profit during her four years at the Surf Life Saving Foundation, and brings with her an understanding and an appreciation of donor relationships and direct marketing. Wildlife Warriors' vision of people, wildlife and habitats survivng and prospering without being detrimental to the existence of each other, appealed greatly to Melissa as it truly resonates with her own beliefs.
Outside of work, Melissa and her family love spending most weekends at the beach and enjoying Australia's fantastic weather and lifestyle.
With thousands of visitors from all over the world passing through the gates daily, all team members understand the importance of making a lasting impression to our patrons. A job at Australia Zoo is more than a vocation, it's a lifestyle - just ask any of our team members.
