Queen Latifah, Ricky Martin and Quincy Jones are just a few of the stars that attended the esteemed Power of Love gala dinner in Las Vegas last week - in which Australia Zoo and the Irwin family were thrilled to be a part of!
Australia Zoo's donation of a premium prize package reached $80,000 AUD in the silent auction, raising funds for research into degenerative brain diseases.
Together with Air New Zealand and Rumba Resort, Australia Zoo were able to generate a substantial amount to be used for research into diseases such as Alzheimer's, Huntington's and Parkinson's diseases, multiple sclerosis and multiple systematrophy.
The premium Australia Zoo package included Business Class tickets on Air New Zealand to either Brisbane or Maroochydore, five nights accommodation at Rumba Resort at Bulcock Beach, a Platinum experience at Australia Zoo & a cruise on the Australia Zoo's Croc One boat.
As well as fundraising for brain research, Australia Zoo was excited to once again be able to promote the Sunshine Coast region to a global tourism audience and high-profile celebrity guest list including Andy Garcia and Sharon Stone.
The 18th annual event was held at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino where guests were treated to a lavish Don Perignon reception and the opportunity to bid on one-of-a-kind silent auction items.
All proceeds from the Power of Love gala dinner went to Keep Memory Alive, the fundraising arm of the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health.
