Australia Zoo turns 50!
January 1 - December 31
Where it all began......
Australia Zoo came from humble beginnings, opening to the public in 1970 as a two acre wildlife park with an array of snakes, freshwater crocodiles and kangaroos. Steve’s mission was to encourage people to live harmoniously alongside wildlife.
Fast forward 50 years to the most interactive conservation destination on the planet! Now, Australia Zoo is over 700 acres with 110 acres open to visitors and home to over 1,200 animals! Help us to continue Steve’s legacy and save one, save the species.Australia Zoo History
We've gone big for our 50th!
Australia Zoo is thrilled to announce the arrival of four Critically Endangered female Sumatran elephants!
These beautiful girls are currently enjoying their own sanctuary with access to hundreds of acres to play and roam. We expect them to be adventuring in their world-class Elephantasia by Mid 2020, complete with a huge swimming pool, fountain, plethora of plants, trees and grassland.Book an encounter today!
