Red Panda Cubs (Scarlett and Teddy)

Adopt Scarlett and Teddy

Crikey! We are the newest and cutest members of the Australia Zoo family, Scarlett and Teddy the red panda cubs! Teddy was born 22 December 2021 and I was born the day before on the 21st so that makes me the bigger sister in age and size.

Our keepers call us their favourite little fluffballs and say I have a big personality like our mum, Mohini and Teddy is a little shy like our dad, Nima. We are mum and dad’s first cubs and the first ever red panda cubs to be born at Australia Zoo which makes us very special indeed.

We have spent the first few months living in our cosy nest with mum and drinking lots of her milk whilst huddled up together. I enjoy keeping my keeper friends on their toes by jumping out of the nest whenever they walk by. Teddy and I think this is fun!

Over the next few months, we plan to follow mum and dad and use all of our energy climbing massive fig trees in our new habitat. We also can’t wait to eat lots of grapes. We hear they’re delicious!

Age, group size and animal restrictions apply; animal encounters are subject to the usual encounter terms and conditions for each animal. Due to health and safety restrictions, saltwater crocodiles are not available for guest encounters; another animal/species will be substituted.

Please note: While all of the animals available for adoption are usually on display at the Zoo and/or participate in encounters, adopting an animal does not guarantee the chance of seeing or meeting them if visiting the Zoo. Animal availability is subject to change; there may be times when animals may be temporarily off display due to unforeseen circumstances, such as veterinary check-ups or enclosure maintenance. If booking one of our amazing animal encounters to meet your adoptee, please advise staff of the animal you adopt at the time of booking.

Animal adoptions and associated elements are non-refundable, non-transferable and not redeemable for cash.

It is important to note that adopting an animal does not provide a company or organisation license to promote Australia Zoo across their channels. If you desire to include in advertising and/or collateral including your website, further discussions will be required. If interested, please let us know and we can organise a meeting. Thank you again for your support!
