Sumatran Tiger (Sage)
Hi there, my name is Sage and I’m a stunning Sumatran tiger cub! My brother Malcolm, sister Sallie and I were all born on the 18th of February 2020 and we are the first set of triplets cubs birthed at Australia Zoo. We were all named after a family in honour of their significant conservation efforts with Australia Zoo Wildlife Warriors.
I am the smallest of my siblings, but also the cheekiest and I keep my keepers on their toes. I love mornings as I am usually the first one to wake up. This allows me more time to plan what mischief I can get up to. I have a very playful nature and can jump higher and further than my siblings. My favourite game is to sneak up on my brother Malcolm and jump on top of him. It’s great fun! I also love my food, finishing my plate before the other cubs. I am a confident swimmer and will happily play in the tiger pool at Tiger Temple for as long as I can.
When I am older, I will be part of a breeding program that is critically important to my species in the wild. Sumatran tigers can be found throughout the remaining grasslands and forests in Sumatra, but unfortunately, it’s believed there are less than 350 of us left. Australia Zoo has a conservation project in Sumatra, helping to protect us from poaching and the illegal wildlife trade, so when you adopt me, you’re helping my species in the wild!

Age, group size and animal restrictions apply; animal encounters are subject to the usual encounter terms and conditions for each animal. Due to health and safety restrictions, saltwater crocodiles are not available for guest encounters; another animal/species will be substituted.
Please note: While all of the animals available for adoption are usually on display at the Zoo and/or participate in encounters, adopting an animal does not guarantee the chance of seeing or meeting them if visiting the Zoo. Animal availability is subject to change; there may be times when animals may be temporarily off display due to unforeseen circumstances, such as veterinary check-ups or enclosure maintenance. If booking one of our amazing animal encounters to meet your adoptee, please advise staff of the animal you adopt at the time of booking.
Animal adoptions and associated elements are non-refundable, non-transferable and not redeemable for cash.
It is important to note that adopting an animal does not provide a company or organisation license to promote Australia Zoo across their channels. If you desire to include in advertising and/or collateral including your website, further discussions will be required. If interested, please let us know and we can organise a meeting. Thank you again for your support!
