Major Mitchell’s are found throughout arid and semi-arid regions of inland Australia. They often live in dry woodlands, eucalypt forests and scrublands. Resembling a fluffy marshmallow, these pale pink and white parrots are a sight to see. They have a stunning crest on top of their head, lined with the colours of a beautiful sunset! These pink cockatoos are omnivores and will primarily feed on grasses, seeds and fruits. However, they will also eat insect larvae!
Sadly, land clearance and the spread of introduced weeds, means their population has experienced rapid decline. However, the species as a whole is of least concern. Woo-hoo!
